Open-Silicon Participates in GSA Luncheon Panel

Open-Silicon to Discuss Emerging Semiconductor Applications for Consumer Electronics Devices in GSA Luncheon Panel

“Negotiating the Blurred Lines Between Consumer Electronics, Home Networking and Mobile Technology”

Semiconductors have consistently surpassed expectations when creating technologies to stay abreast of consumer trends. In the next several years, research has shown that companies must innovate in creating technologies that allow devices to stream content through MIDs, digital TVs, set-top boxes, PCs, PDAs, netbooks, mobile handsets and digital cameras. These categories will require sophisticated computing power, high-end microcontrollers, video/audio/media processing, Internet connectivity and touch screen functionality. This panel will focus on the trends taking place within the Consumer Electronics segment with a focus on MIDs, Home Networking and Networked-Attached Storage and address the needs in this space, such as power management, ultra portability, processing capacity, networking capabilities and multimedia capability.
