Rick Crowley has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and, in addition to his role as director at Open-Silicon, Mr. Crowley serves as the vice president, finance and chief financial officer of Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT), a highly successful, publically traded semiconductor company. Prior to joining IDT, Mr. Crowley was Vice President and CFO of Micrel, Inc. for nine years and held positions with Vantis Corporation as its vice president, chief financial officer and with National Semiconductor Corporation as vice president, corporate controller. Mr. Crowley holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Management in Accounting and Finance from Northwestern University.
Christopher Freeburg has a professional background in private equity, strategy consulting, investment banking, and executive search. His transaction experience includes investing in and advising companies in the healthcare, technology, business services, and manufacturing industries. Mr. Freeburg is a Vice President at private equity firm UIB Capital, where he is responsible for originating, executing, and managing portfolio investments, and serves on the boards of Open-Silicon, Inc., and Victron, Inc. Prior to joining UIB, he worked at Healthios, Inc., a merchant banking boutique, TA Associates, a leading private equity firm with $16 billion of capital under management, and Robertson Stephens, an emerging growth investment bank. Mr. Freeburg earned his B.A. at Stanford University and his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Lars Huelsmann joined Unicorn Investment bank in 2009 as Chief Risk Officer, responsible for managing all business related and operational risks for the group. Mr. Huelsmann has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry with a strong background in risk management and restructuring/change management. Prior to joining Unicorn, Mr. Huelsmann was a Managing Director at Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Bank in London. Before leaving Germany for London, Mr. Huelsmann advised European clients as a Strategy Consultant at Accenture (Munich) where he gained experience in business modeling, outsourcing and process optimization across the financial services industry. Mr. Huelsmann holds a Masters degree in Business Economics from the Ludwig-Maximillian University, Munich.
Christine King became Chairperson of the Open-Silicon Board of Directors in 2009. Ms. King served as president and chief executive officer of AMI Semiconductor for seven years. In addition to taking the company public in 2003, Ms. King led AMIS through six acquisitions as well as played a key role in the ON Semiconductor acquisition of AMIS in March 2008 in a stock-for-stock transaction with an estimated equity value of $613 million. Prior to joining AMIS, Ms. King was vice president of Semiconductor Products for IBM's Microelectronics Division. Her 23 years of experience at IBM included launching the company's ASIC business in 1993 and growing it into the number one ASIC business in the world. Ms. King earned her bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J.
Dr. Naveed Sherwani, president and chief executive officer of Open-Silicon, co-founded the company in 2003 with a vision to bring cost-effectiveness, predictability and reliability to the ASIC market. Prior to founding Open-Silicon, Dr. Sherwani was the founder and general manager of Intel Microelectronics Services, where he led efforts to promote the use of disciplined ASIC methodologies to improve design efficiency and time-to-market. Dr. Sherwani was also a professor at Western Michigan University and is the author of the physical design textbook, Algorithms for VLSI Physical Design Automation, which is widely used at major universities around the world. Dr. Sherwani currently serves on the board of directors for the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) and on the board of directors of Integration and the Technical Advisory Board for Pyxis Technology. Dr. Sherwani received his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Rabih Srour is the ICT investments manager at ALNAHLA group. His responsibilities cover a portfolio of Greenfield telecom investments and IT startups worldwide with wide variety of scope covering investments analysis and evaluation, technology, project financing and management. Prior to joining AlNahla, Mr. Srour held technical, sales and business development managerial positions in France's 2nd telecom services provider, Neuf Cegetel. Mr. Srour brings with him his passion for venture initiatives as well as his international and entrepreneurial experiences in different industries. Mr. Srour holds an MBA from the Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland, MS in IT and networks from ENSTB, Rennes, France and earned his bachelors degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from The Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon.
